The NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service's Office of Habitat Conservation focuses on community-based restoration through the Restoration Center. This program's objective is to bring together citizens, organizations, industry, students, landowners, and local, state, and federal agencies to restore habitat around the coastal United States. The program funds projects directly as well as through partnerships with national and regional organizations. Since 1996, this program has funded more than 900 restoration projects.
