Since 2003, the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office has maintained an office at Nauticus, the National Maritime Center, located on the busy waterfront in Norfolk, Virginia. At Nauticus, the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office is incorporating Chesapeake Bay information into existing Nauticus programs, creating new teacher training and student education programs, building new Chesapeake Bay-related exhibits, and developing a lecture series on NOAA-related topics. NOAA at Nauticus also houses a NOAA Education Resource Center, where educators can gather information and materials to use in educational activities with their students.

• Take I-664 South toward Suffolk; merge onto VA-164E via Exit 9 toward Portsmouth.
• Cross the West Norfolk Bridge.
• Merge onto US-58 E on the left toward the Midtown Tunnel.
• Come out of the tunnel and merge onto US-58 E on the right toward Brambleton Ave. and downtown Norfolk.
• Turn right on Boush St.
• Nauticus will be on your right at the intersection of Main St. and Waterside Drive.

From Richmond, Williamsburg, and points West on I-64

• Follow I-64 east toward Hampton and Norfolk
• Go through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and take Exit 277A, VA-168 south.
• VA 168 south becomes VA 337 west/Tidewater Drive.
• Take the Waterside Drive ramp and follow a slight left onto Waterside Drive.
• Nauticus will be on your left at the intersection of Main St. and Waterside Drive.

From Virginia Beach, Virginia

• Follow I-264 west toward Norfolk and take Exit 9, Waterside Drive (left exit).
• Go straight on Waterside Drive; Nauticus will be on your left at the intersection of Main Street and Waterside Drive.

From Portsmouth, Virginia

• Take I-264 east through the Downtown Tunnel. Cross the Berkeley Bridge and stay in one of the left two lanes.
• Take the Waterside Drive exit and go straight on Waterside Drive.
• Nauticus will be on your left at the intersection of Main St. and Waterside Drive.

From Suffolk, Franklin, Windsor, and points west on US 58

• Follow US 58 east and merge onto I-264 east.
• Take I-264 east through the Downtown Tunnel. Cross the Berkeley Bridge and stay in one of the left two lanes.
• Take the Waterside Drive exit and go straight on Waterside Drive.
• Nauticus will be on your left at the intersection of Main St. and Waterside Drive.
